(r)evolution blue as a name is inspired by the novel:
A Serious Call to an American (r)evolution by Jerome Ellison.
(r)evolution blue, abbreviated just as (r), as a project is inspired by decades of existence in a capitalist society that values corporate entities and owners above the human beings they are meant to serve.
Currently, (r) is a writing project that blends a bit of a business strategy with the intentional concept of a manifesto.
The goal is for this finished work to inform our Temple of the Dude (ToD) structure and operating principles.
The dream is that based on ToD’s fiscal and community success generated by deploying such principles, our approach will be adopted by other corporations, and essentially spark a revolution that reshapes the way success in business is realized.
The theory is that by shifting the approach to value people and communities ahead of corporate interests, business success will be redefined. Instead of being celebrated primarily for profitability, the merit of the new blue corporation will be based on what that entity has contributed to the human beings it employs, and the communities they inhabit.
We are all inspired by and empowered by the art we absorb. Corporate recognition, support, and care for the artistic community is also a part of our intended framework. What would be cool is that we create a process by which art not only inspires, but more directly facilitates entrepreneurial vision. Thus, artists are valued and recognized just as any other contributing member of a startup venture.
In all, we aim to create a company that supports its local community not as a tax break incentive or a marketing ploy, but as a core ingredient to “who” we are in the world. A company that treats its employees and their family members as well as any other director, manager, or owner of the entity.
